Pedro Tejada

Hello :D My name is Pedro Tejada, I'm a 17 years old unicyclist from São Paulo, Brazil. I used to practice Motor and Bike Trials for a long time, but in the end of 2007 I quit both and started unicycling. In less than a year I really got into the flat/street thing and started to do some demos and to attend international events. In 2009 I started to ride for the Canadian factory Kris Holm, side by side with some of the best riders of the world, who also turned into my best friends. Many people keep asking me WHY UNICYCLING? Street/Flat Unicycling is quite small in Brazil, but it's a quite big sport in Europe. For me it's not only a sport, it's a lifestyle! Into the unicycling world I have my job, friends and fun! Hopefully through this blog you'll see that :D! Cheers, Pedro!

KHU Photo Contest Logo

Hello :D !

Kris Holm just announced the new Capture the Moment Photo Contest!

There are three categories where you can submit your pictures: Action, Culture and Landscape!

On action, the riding is the most important thing. On culture the most important is not only the riding but the people and the way they do it. And in landscape what counts is a nice view with a unicycle or unicyclist around!

You can join the contest until March 31, 2010. The photos are going to be judged by the unicyclists registered on the contest page.

If you want to check the prizes and more info: http://capture.krisholm.com/

Good luck! Take some nice shots :D !

Hey :D !

I just discovered  today through a friend that some pictures from the São Paulo 24 Hours of Sport demo that I did in September, were published in the DNA Off-Road Magazine (Issue 7)!

This issue has been into stores for one month but started to be collected back last week. I had to visit many magazine stores to find the last two exemplars! A picture of Thiago and Valter (MotoTrials) takes place in the start of the article about the event! Mine is on the third page!

I took some pictures of the mag (Pg: 1, 14, 15, 16):

Hey…

This time I’m not that well…

Some days before the Latin American Championship I had strong pain crises in my kidney. After many exams and different doctors we detected a serious infection! The bactery was in my throat but went down to my kidney causing the strong pain… Before I traveled I had some injections (one of penicillin is extremely PAINFUL) and I got better…

To avoid problems in the future I decided to have a surgery in my throat. I also had to do a correction surgery in my nose, so it was better to do both together. The surgery is quite simple, also the recovering. I was delaying the surgery for sometime after the World Championship, but was better to do it now…

I had it on the morning of 11th November and everything went really well! It’s a bit painful but the worse is the weird sensation of the hurt throat. For some days I wasn’t able to eat (only drink)…

I’m already inside my house for one week now! I still have to wait one week until I be able to ride. I feel really well, but after so many days without real food is quite dangerous to do any exercises. As I can’t go out, I’m using that time to update blogs, website, Flickr and sponsorship material…

For you, two pictures of me after the surgery! (bad quality images! My mom took it with her cellphone) :p:

Helloo :D

Between Octuber 31 and November 1 we had in Santiago and Valparaíso, Chile, the first Latin American Unicycling Convention and Championship!

I was in the organization of the event, working hard since july to make it happen with the other guys in Chile and Argentina (the experience from European competitions reaaally helps a lot!)! The results: It was awesome!

Not only the competitions, that followed all IUF rules and specs, but meeting everybody was the best part! The biggest part of us knew each other over th web, but was hard to have ALL riders together. With the Kris Holm Sponsor in prizes and specially with the Cabeza de Martillo partnership, that sponsored us with the space and structure, everything worked out!

In the competitions I got some interesting results: First place in Trials, Street and Flatland! The complete results are on the official website: www.laucc.com

It was amazing :D ! The first of many south american competitions I think! The next one probably will take place in Argentina in the first semester of 2010! I can’t wait for it!

The official video is being made in Chile by one of the riders! For now, the pictures from my new camera (Thanks MOM and DAD! The new camera really helped a lot!):

Hello!

Well, this one was the coolest demo I did in the last months I think…

In the 19 September weekend we had a huge event here in São Paulo, were the organization places sports attraction around the city for 24 hours!

I already knew about this event, but some hours before the organization changed our location! At least we went to he best one: Vale do Anhangabaú. The friday-staurday night was crazy! The material was delayed and I had to stay with Robson Lima (Bike Trials rider) over the night building the course! Actually we only finished it on the morning after 2 hours that we slept in my house! In the end the course was pretty nice. Not big, not small, with stuff for bike, uni and moto… pretty balanced!

We did shows for 12 HOURS! I was unicycling (Trials, but also did some flat short lines:p), Robson Lima (Bike) and Valter Fernandes and Thiago Vermelho (both motorcycle). In the end of the night my shins were all burnt by the contact with the shinguards! CRAZY! But everything compensated: we had a great media exposure, pics for magazines and newspapers, TVs and even live link for national TVs!

I still didn’t received the official video (there was a film maker SPECIALLY FOR TRIALS!)! For now, some pictures that the guys shot with my camera:

Hey :D

After EUC Summer I took a small “break” and traveled a bit around France. I spent some days in Buthiers with visits to Paris (Was cheaper to stay there and go everyday to the “old city”). After that I went with Yoggi by car to Toulouse! The city is fantastic! Nice people, nice spots to ride, nice pubs and a good vibe at all. Obviously, there’s no one better than Yoggi to show the city! I had 3 or 4 days with Yoggi, Vava and his friends in Toulouse, and after that I took a train to Montpellier to visit Adrien Delecroix :D

Riding with Adrien is ALWAYS cool :D … We also had nice laugh out there! There were some issues to solve for the 2010 season and we worked out to organize some plans for the next year… The bad thing went in the last 4 days: I had a kind of Flu and didn’t really trained! With the Swine Flu thing in Brazil, I had to visit an Hospital to be sure and take a certificate of health to come back! Valeríe (Adriens mom) helped A LOT and everything worked out!

Thanks A LOT Yoggi, Vava and all Delecroix for helping me out this summer! Hope to see eveyrbody in the World Championships this year!

Here are the pictures!

As I didn’t posted for a long long time, now I’m going to update the blog with some stuff I did in the past months :D

In the end of July I went to France to attend the EUC Summer 2009, second part of the same comp I did in January in Germany. The competition took place in Buthier, a small village that have a sports base with LOTS of rocks for trials and some nice space for flat. The organization was basically the same as the winter edition… Everything was awesome :D

Unfortunately I didn’t qualified between the top 8, but I liked my run… Was really cool to see the improvement of the summer run with the one I did in Cologne past winter!

Here are the pictures (some are official, some were shot by friends… But all are in my Flickr):

Hey!

Finally I found a nice result for the blog and website matching! Now on the website there’s only official stuff and here my daily life!

It was a bit hard to costumize the template, but I liked this one… I think it will work for the next months :D !
